Coway Water Softener Rental
Coway’s ultra-slim water softener removes the calcium and magnesium that hard water leaves behind — scale on faucets, film on dishes, dry skin after showers, and water heaters working harder than they should. No upfront purchase — just the rental, the install, and the service.
Why Texas water needs a softener
Texas tap water is hard by every standard measurement. Houston’s main system reports hardness up to 236 ppm, Dallas sits in the 140–160 ppm range, San Antonio is at 15–20 grains per gallon straight from the Edwards Aquifer — all of that is well past the USGS line for "very hard." The calcium and magnesium don’t get filtered out by a pitcher or a purifier cartridge; they need ion-exchange treatment, which is what a softener does.
The visible signs show up first: scale on shower glass, faucets that crust over, glasses that come out of the dishwasher spotty. They’re cosmetic, but the hidden cost is the water heater running through more energy and the appliances wearing out sooner.
Hard water by the numbers
- Houston140–236 ppm
- Dallas140–160 ppm
- San Antonio255–345 ppm (15–20 gpg)
USGS marks water above 120 ppm as "hard" and above 180 ppm as "very hard" — every Texas city Coway serves sits at or above those lines.
